Crackers don't honk when they talk.
Sherman Hemsley was right, but only about the yankee white folk. Us crackers, southerners, invented drawl. Yankees breathe in before they talk and speak through their heads, creating a honking sound, where crackers breathe out prior to speaking, producing more of a wheezing effect.
So, no. honkey is not the same as cracker.
