The horrible miscasting makes that apparent.

Seriously, when I think "30 or 40-something aristocratic parents to the anti-Christ," I do NOT think of Julia Stiles and Liev Schreiber.

And it's apparently almost a shot-for-shot remake of the original, a la Psycho '98. Someone I know also said the movie really comes off like nobody wanted to make it, but then realized this year would have 6/6/06 and they needed to do something for it.

Just do yourself a favor and rent the original.

I also heard it's pretty much word for word. That's a shame, I might rent it when it comes out though.

The new version will probably have a masturbation scene, a la Psycho '98.

The Lion King seemed innocent enough, didn't it? But did we really notice all the issues of assault on morality and ethics the first time we watched it? I sure did not. It was not until I sat down with a pragmatic open mind did I even realize the scope of moral violations the 83-minute The Lion King fed our minds.

It was pure and utter crap. I only went because some friends and I went as a group for one of their birthdays today.

Here's the rundown of the positives:
+The guy that played the priest
+The guy that played the photographer
+Some of the deaths were kinda cool (the glass shards were a particularly nice touch to the impalement scene)

Now the negatives:
-Miscast parents
-In the original, the movie made me hate Damien. This movie made me hate the kid playing him.
-They cheapened the scares in this movie down to the level of the old "boo" type scares (calm scene interrupted by sudden movement)
-The dream sequences. Trust me. I wasn't the only one in the theater reminded of the new Sprite "Sublymenal Messages" ad campaign.
-Surprisingly, the woman who played Mrs. Baylock was terrible, even though I loved her in Rosemary's Baby
-The few special effects in the movie aside from the deaths were bad, and obviously blue screened
-What was with that mask that Damien was wearing in the first dream sequence?! IT LOOKED LIKE HE ROBBED THE DAMN THING FROM JIM CARREY!

Ive never seen the original Omen, but you know a movie is bad when the above mentioned scary parts are the only part you liked.

-Possible Spoilers-

Count Orlock throwing the bloody fetus made me laugh

-end spoilers-

thats all i got outta it

that sucked.
the european union, the columbia, and 9/11 being signals of the apocalypse was hilariously stupid.

i did like the dream sequences though. yeah, they were cheap, and i think would be a lot better without the sound fx every time something happened (imagine if it was silent. like the dreams in the exorcist. probably 2x as scary). but it was surreal enough to be a believable nightmare.

SPOILER SORTA IT DOESNT MATTER REALLY BECAUSE ITS OBVIOUS

and i thought the shot of liev after a decapitation to be well done
