When my computer starts up, some error messages appear. I was wondering if they can be removed, like viruses.

The error messages are being given by start-up programs. Open start -> run, type 'msconfig', and the two last tabs have a list of your startup programs and services. Turn some off, reboot, and use trial and error to turn off the programs that are giving you the errors.
