After The Thing, The Fly is the best remake ever. Everything was done right because it was a completely new film with only a nod towards the original premise.

The movie is so gross and so fantastic at the same time. I like that they took a premise so utterly ridiculous and tried to make it as realistic as possible.

It's been over 10 years since i've seen this flick but, the scene that STILL disturbs me is when Brundlefly arm wrestles the tough ass in the diner, snaps his arm and the bone pokes through. Ooof! Maybe it's because something like that could really happen.

I'd say it has more to do with a really good director being behind it. Cronenberg is fucking awesome. There have been several remakes that have very little to do with the original and fucking suck. Its really nice when a GOOD remake comes along.
