i'm well aware that most of the press is biased either one way or the other. my question is which news programs/publications tend to lean right or tend to lean left.

also, i know this question has been asked before, but is there any news source that seems to be unbiased?

also, is that one website that lists all of the presidential candidates and has all thier info such as voting tendencies and their stands on "hot" issues a good starting point when trying to sort out who in the good gosh darn hell you are going to vote for this year?

Mainstream comedy. If they aren't, they lose their audience.

Actually, as much as I love the Daily Show, you have to see the liberal bias in there, and they are as popular as they have ever been.

I don't think there is any such thing as totally unbiased media, but there are media sources that are less biased than others. Personally, I visit both liberal and conservative media sources to try get both views on an issue.

I tend to agree with Jeanette and believe that that's about the best you can do. I think it all amounts to choosing the lesser of the two evils anyway. There are no perfect candidates and/or platforms.

The Nation = left
The New Republic = right
Newsweek = right
Time = right
NPR = left of centre
All of Fox News = right
All of CNN = right
MSNBC = right of centre
Mother Jones = left
Tikkun = left
The Economist = right

I buy most of your left-wing/liberal publications, though I'll read the Economist sometimes at the bookstore. Being a citizen of both Canada and the British Commonwealth, I get my news from the venerable CBC, and the BBC newscast (morning and supper hour), which are the last bastions of unbiased and thorough journalism in the English-speaking world, in my opinion.

CNN and MSNBC right? If you say so...

BBC is hardly unbiased.

What do you know? Just because BBC isn't as left as you are doesn't mean that they are not left of center.

The BBC is very leftist. Some go as far as to say that it delves into extremism.

Time, The New York Times, and CNN are generally associated with the leftist media, while The Wall Street Journal and Fox News tend to be right-leaning.

If you want facts on Democratic candidates: Democratic Candidates

Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I never thought of Newsweek as Right. However, my Gov. teacher chooses the articles we read, and seeing as how he's fairly liberal, perhaps he picks the articles that comply with his views.

Considering some of BT's information was inaccurate I wouldn't be thanking him to much. CNN on the right? ha

She was asking for an opinion, Auntie Em. Of course CNN would look moderate to you, given how skewed to the right political discourse is in the U.S. . See? That's an opinion.

i didn't ask about democratic candidates only. i asked about that one website that lists all the candidates and if it's a good starting point to sift through all of the crap.

bt gave me a list. the rest of you just disagreed or agreed with his list. jeanette was completely useless by telling me what she does, like i give a care or something. i would go into the uselessness of kelly's statements, but i'm afraid that just by making this small comment i am being terribly redundant.

Well I guess it is a matter of opinion but I mean I think most people feel CNN leans towards the left.

But for the record he never mentioned the word opinion. Alls fine.

I agree with his list yet I feel that BBC is biased towards the left as well as CNN and MSNBC

I'm from New York and we have Newsday over here and that leans towards the left.

And I didn't give you a list of democratic candidates only. If you click the link, you'll see for yourself that all the democratic candidates as well as Bush/Cheney (who the Right is rallying behind) and the biggest 3rd parties are featured there.

generally, when someone asks for UNBIASED information, they don't pay attention to links that are described as "democratic candidates."

thanks for the link, anyways.

Mainsteam American news sources (CNN, FOX News, MSNBC) are definitely slanted to the right at this point in time. It was blantantly obvious in the way they handled coverage of the protest marches during Iraqi Freedom.
