For the most part, games based on movies, books, comics, and TV shows tend to suck. Not always.

I think the best game based on a movie would have to be Goldeneye 64. Too good; probably the best all around game on the Nintendo 64 (I liked OoT more and SM64 as well, but they didn't have multi-player.)

I really enjoyed True Lies for Sega megadrive. Yeah, it was challenging, but a game based on Arnold's movie, that doesn't suck ASS, for a huge fan of Arnold's movies was just awesome.

It could've had 2-player mode of some sort, but I really enjoyed this game with my best friend back in the days.

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Okay, so it's not based directly on a movie, but anything based on Star Wars is based on the movies, so whatever.

I'd say Sweet Home, although nobody's ever confirmed if the game was based on the movie or vice versa.

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from butcher bay. It is not actually based from a movie but it is part of the series' storyline.

Batman for the NES (although there were no references to the movie aside from the joker, batman, the batmobile, and the ending)

Maximum Carnage for a comic-book based game
Call of Cthulu for a novel-based game
The closest I can think of for a movie-based game is Batman Returns for the SNES

I agree, this was actually a pretty good game and would be just as fun without the movie license.

There are lots of good videogames based on other form of entertaiment. I have hangover and i'm tired, so i say only top 3.

1: Judge Dredd vs Death: Pretty fucking good FPS, co-op mode is one of the best for PS2. But plot not based to any comicbook, so should this even be in this list : <
2: Die Hard trilogy has always place in my heart
3: Plot of GTA SA is taken from my life

Personally I have to pick The Punisher(both the x-box version and the arcade beat-em-up) and The Hulk- Ultimate Destruction. Oh, and the PS1 Spider Man games... I'd love to see them come out with an awesome Batman game...
