Hey something just occured to me. Are there even going to be secret/unlockable characters this time? If theres gonna be multiplayer online I don't really see how its feasible other than limiting your opponents to people who've unlocked the exact same set as you, which is just silly. Also this would make sense sicne the current revealed character roster is pretty dang large and theres no mention of unlocking anyone.

Okay seriously, how many times have you been playing a game and unlocked a "secret" character and actually been like "WOAH I didn't know this character was in this game!!!!1." Dr. V's right. The point of a "secret" or "hidden" character is much more to extend replay value by giving you something to work towards rather than to actually be a surprise.

When I first got Melee, I thought Game & Watch was going to be playable Mr. Hands. Because, I mean.. It had watch in the name & hands have watches

Nintendo needs to pull a Twilight Princess and just release this for the GC, considering 90% of the people that are going to purchase it are just going to play it with GC controllers. It seems kind of silly that they're going to release it for the Wii, when I already have a Wii without the little motion censors. Weak. The Wii is just a ploy to sap $200 out of my wallet.

I was surprised by the secret characters in Melee, but that's because I didn't just go on GameFAQS and look it up at the time.

I wasn't expecting Gannondorf, Mewtwo or Falco (and to a lesser extent Marth, Roy and Mr. Game and Watch but I had never heard of them before.)

I saw Gannondorf in the opening movie before the game came out. He's the middle hand in the Zelda fist thrusting bonanza.
They should just put Ganon in it.
