ITS PAYNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEE!!!

i love the comedy enemies in max payne 1

i love the easter eggs, like in 'address unknown': "i had the constant look of constipated grimace on my face". or the original max payne guy starring in lord and ladies (and address unknown)

there are bloody loads of them.

i wish they would make an address unknown series.

"all those video games must make his shooting really acurate, i mean useing a joypads just like using a gun, right?"

I just started (finally!) playing the first Max Payne last night. I LOVE it so far, the atmosphere of the game really draws you in more than most other games I've played.

I saw the Lords and Ladies thing on the TV in the hotel, that was hilarious. As for the other "easter eggs" that you mention, will I definitely run across them in the course of the game, or are they actually hidden like an "easter egg" would be? I don't want to miss any of the humor that they put in there.

There is a secret room in max payne 1 in the level where you kill the finito brothers. I don´t remember exactly where in the level, but at some point there is a door opposite to a bathroom. the door is sealed shut, but there is a crack on the door. shoot it to pieces and go to the room behind the door. then go out the window and follow the ledge to another window. Behind that window is a secret room with a reference to Buffy the vampire slayer. Hope that made any sense.

Cool, I just did that board last night. I'll have to go back and check that out. Not that I would really understand the reference or anything...

couple of others,

subtle duke nukem forever reference (guy says 'when its done', and he has same last name as duke nukem forever programmer, forget the name)

dick justice is apparently based on max paynes original revenge rampage (according to bum

some guard in the original game named his gun dick justice (i think)

references to columbine parents suing video games.

also, the is an address unknown movie! but before you get exited and think a mental patient killing people in noir york, its just some crappy movie about a kid who gets a mysterious package or some shit like that.

Oooh...I remebered another one! In some level at the end of the game, you come a cross a small office complex, go thru it to the next room and there will be a painting on the wall. when you shoot it down, there is a button. press it and a hidden door will open.
I have a bad memory, so I cant remember exactly which level this was. :/

I played the orginal and enjoyed it except for those retarded maze levels as Rongi already mentioned. I'm probaly going to rent this game for a system since its so short but I heard they took out all the maze levels. Looks good despite its length.

If only we could all post from the only article on GameFAQs about the game. A man can dream.

This is seriously one of the best games ever. Ever ever. There are still dream levels, but you can't die in them and they're pretty linear.

And there's a naked chick.

I just spent 30 game minutes in Dead Man Walking mode, cheating and blowing people up :<

and none of my screenshots saved, or you'd all get to see 7 guys getting flung in the air and one getting wrapped around a lamppost.

If I ever make a movie, its totally going to have some poor hapless old janitor mopping up blood and pieces of brain and skull after a complete balls-on shoot out in a slum apartment building.

I really, really love dual desert eagles.

So I just called over 12 stores, and none of them carry this anymore for PC, and Steam doesn't carry it either.

I'd be able to love the second Max Payne way more if they kept the squinty shitfaces from the first one.

I just realized that I haven't played Max Payne at all for about four years. Good thing I got the games for cheap, they're not even worth reselling and I'd love to play them again if I knew where the hell they were...

What? Max Payne's face looked much cooler in the second one. In the first one he looked like a punk who needed some sleep; whatchoo talkin' about, foo?

Now that this has been bumped, I should tell you all that Max Payne 1 & 2 have been released as a bundle on Steam for about $15.

Why oh why did I trade in my copy of the first one? It got rather underwhelming reviews, but it was awesome. I'll try and track down the PC versions of both on Amazon.
