I'd like to direct you to the games forum
With that said...
No, but it's not too far off either. With the exception of the few minor quirks the PS2 and X-box have, I STILL think Nintendo is on top, and the gaming industry owes them everything anyway..there's not much competition, and I try to ignore the fooks who's argument against Nintendo seems to be "OMG STFU NINTENDO IS FOR 6 YEAR OLDS AND POSSIBLY NERDS TOO".

Nintendo has been spit upon by the hordes of X-Boxing, Next-gen gamers who would rather have brainless shooting games than the "baby" games Nintendo makes that actually have stories. If those people could really get into a game instead of blowing it up, they'd see that Nintendo games are pure gold .

But, to answer your question, Nintendo was better in the 8-Bit days when it ruled the market.

It's his first post... he just went to the first forum he saw...

DID YOU KNOW:

Before going into the video game business, Nintendo was the leading organized business in the slave trade. They changed their business when it was discovered that black people weren't of any use in Japan, since they have robots to do all their work.

Help us Dr. Boogie!

Before Nintendo was involved with the slave trade, they made Playing Cards for all the Westerners in the 1800's

IMO I think Nintendo is pretty anti-innovation these days. Metroid Prime looks amazing, but Nintendo itself had little to do with it. Their 'wait and see if somebody else makes money off it' approach to online gaming and their scam of re-releasing the entire SNES library on GBA as 'new' games is pretty weak (don't get me wrong, I love the games - but I paid for many of them 10 years ago. if anything they should be budget priced). Hopefully this will change and they will start producing great NEW games like they used to in the 8/16 bit days.

Don't forget eReader cards. Buy the GBA, the GBA card scanner, and $5-$10 per card to scan in an old NES game to play on your GBA.

Totally - I've always wanted companies to re-release older titles in some form, but if it has to be like that I'll happy stick with emulators. And what the hell is stopping them from having an online GBA? Fuck this link cable shit - I wanna play online. If Nintendo doesn't stop being so passive the next huge handheld will be made by Nokia :/

An online platform game, especially exploration-based like Metroid would be very difficult to pull of decently. The mechanics would have to be tweaked to hell. I'm not gonna blame nintendo if they don't take your retarded suggestion. I am, however going to tell you to shut the fuck up for voicing it.

Actually, Metroid Prime 2 (working title) is supposed to have a multiplayer element to it.

I'm curious as to how that would work. Same for Splinter Cell 2. :/

I'm guessing it'll be just a death match option and not have anything to do with the actual story.

I'm beginning to think Nintendo will NEVER make an online game

Like someone said in the SSBM thread, an online SSBM with mics would be the most awesome thing ever. But like soundtest said, Nintendo will never do it because they're the most uncreative bastards ever.

OH LOOK MARIO IS WALKING AROUND IN 3-D AGAIN AND HE'S SOLVING MYSTERIES AND COLLECTING COINS THIS GAME IS SURE FUN BUT HAVEN'T I DONE IT AT LEAST SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND TIMES BEFORE?!

Jumping into 3D was the most creative thing Nintendo's done. Everything else is just money-grubbing bullshit. They don't even try to be innovative and give people a real reason to buy their shit. Their tactics are similar to that of a car salesman.

"Well, you can get Legend of Zelda for Gamecube, but you're also going to want a GBA if you want to fully experience everything the game has to offer. That also means to need the adapter for that. And if you're going to get a GBA, you might as well get some games for it, like Super Mario Advance or Super Mario Advance 2. Oh, get Metroid Fusion too, which also links up to Metroid Prime. So get those both. And hey, might as well get that eReader, and some cards for it. And if you're getting the eReader, you might as well get some use out of it by getting Animal Crossing, which uses it. Oh, and there's a new GBA coming out, with backlighting, since we knew that people would buy the original, complain they couldn't see it, and then buy this new one. Oh, and if you wanna use headphones, you better buy this adapter. Oh, and buy Nintendo brand headphones too..."

JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP AND MAKE A GOD DAMN FUCKING GAME THAT HAS EVERYTHING IT HAS TO FUCKING OFFER ACTUALLY IN THE FUCKING GAME. DON'T MAKE US PAY ANOTHER $300 JUST SO WE CAN UNLOCK A "NEW" FEATURE THAT MAKES UP ONE-TWENTIETH OF THE OVERALL GAME, IF IT EVEN HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE OVERALL GAME.

I didn't read all of that, but I did read stuff like "I want to play old games again". Play the roms for old games, I wanna see some new, original stuff. I love the mario kart games though, so I want that to keep being improved upon and not changed much.

Nintendo's 2d games were always better than their 3d games, in my oppinion. There's nothing creative in the switch either. The whole industry was making the jump, nintendo last, I think.
