Florida has both, actually, but the vast majority of large lizards there are alligators. Louisiana I think does NOT have any crocodiles. They would always tell us how to tell them apart when I'd visit because alligators are less aggressive and thus, as a rule, never attack humans as crocodiles will regardless of size variation.
So, yeah, after a summer of walking up to alligators for AWESOME PICTURES after careful analysis of what anatomical features made them NOT crocodiles, I was somewhat amused to read an article that talked about how Florida's ecological collapse has caused alligators to start attacking humans.
