Old Oct 8th, 2003, 10:43 AM        OUR BOLD NEW PLAN TO SCREW UP IRAQ MORE
I think we can all agree, we desperately need assistance in Iraq from other countries.

but... TURKEY!?

1.) The Turks already have 4,000 soldiers in Iraqi Kurdistan. They've been there since May. We asked them to leave. They wouldn't.

2.) We recently Arrested a Turkish special forces unit on it's way to assasinate a Kurdish leader.

3.) The turks and the Kurds are mortal enemies.

4.) The US hand picked Iraqi Governing council does not want Turkish soldiers in Iraq.

Let us also not forget that we've made close friends with Syria, who definitely do not hate our guts, by openly condoning Israel's air strike against them.

I'm just glad we're spreading peace and harmony along with democracy, and not further destabilizing the region like those goddamn commie pinko liberals said we would.

So who are we taking on next, then: Syria, or Turkey?

Turkey are our best friends now, like Pakistan, but they shouldn't get cocky and forget that Iraq was our best friend not so very long ago. I think Syria is next, because unlike the actual threats in N. Korea and Iran, Syria has no real ability to deter us. I think though, the we ourselves will not go into syria. I think we'lll let Israel do the heavy lifting while implying that anyone who helps Syria rettaliatte will get a little of what uncle Sam gave Iraq.

Turkey is one of the more progressive nations in the region. They just keep forgetting that .

Iraq and Syria got pretty intertwined in the year leading up to the war, so it's inevitable that something will go down with them. A good amount of Iraqi resistance against the US seems to be filtering in from Syrian guerillas...and you have to remember that some of that land used to be Syria once.

Syria has always had a strong military, with a great airforce, but their biggest strength were relationships with Russia and N. Korea. Iran are hinting they're going to jump in if Syria gets attacked ...so that would be a huge mess.

Politics is a lot like Pro Wrestling.

No, I'm not going to elaborate.
