My girlfriend's keyboard is fucked up and will generate menaingless strings of letters in the middle of words she's typing. She just got it back from the shop today, so I don't think it's a virus.

Sorry couldn't resist.

What kind of keyboard is it? Is it a wireless set up that needs software? If so, try reinstalling it.

Other than that, its probably a lot cheaper just to go out and buy a new one than to take it to the repairs guys.

You should still call them and harass them over it, that way if there's any problems in the future they'll have you on file or something as bitching about it. It's prolly fine, though.

I had the same issue when I upgraded my mom's Sony Vaio from Windows ME to XP.

Oi, that was a nightmare.
