Are there any? I have recently been approved for a work visa in Australia. I would have to work in the manufacturing/engineering industry. So my question is; whats it like down there? I know they have lots of beaches, cooler cars, and cheaper housing, but there has to be some drawback right? I havent been able to find out if there really any reason why I should not denounce my citizenship in the USA.

Please advise.

OK, so we have import prices, I can offset that by simply pirating software or having US based freinds mail me shit from the mall here.

Hazardous wildlife, thats what guns and hardbound books are for.

you smash that thing with a book, the book will start walking away.

My advice is to take a bunch of glue traps with you. My mom works for an Australian company and her boss is always asking for her to send over glue traps for spiders.

I could just catch them and put them to work for law enforcement purposes in the US.

Another strange thing about AU is that rent is calculated per week and not per month like the rest of the entire world.

I never met an aussie I didn't like. They've always been good fun to hang out with.

The last two Aussies I met was when I was in Dublin and it took me a week to recover, my belly ached from laughing so much.

The only thing I can see bad about Australia is that a lot of good bands don't tour there. And as going to gigs is a big part of my life, that's rather important.

When you get there you either need to become someone's bitch, or kick the ass of the biggest guy there. I can show you how to make a shank from a toothbrush, some string and a razor sharp hunting knife if needs be.

One good thing about Australia.

1: Charlie is not in Australia

2: I bet Charlie does surf

I would suggest a visit to the Outback Steak House just so you can grow accustomed to the food there and its culture. I've never been to Australia, but apparently it is customary to consume an entire "bloomin' onion" before each and every meal.

Make sure to rent Crocodile Dundee, Quigley Down Under, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and Muriel's Wedding to better acquaint yourself with the people and their proud history.

Things to know:

The women glow, the men plunder (and chunder), the beer flows, and you can hear thunder.
