2004 releases i'll be looking forward to:

*sigur ros (i'm wondering when they'll fucking release odins raven magic)

*Boards of Canada (feb 29?)

*nine inch nails - bleedthrough (hesitant about this one)
*Daft Punk (?)
*Chemical Brothers (soon, but no others details given)
*squarepusher - ultravisitor (march 8th, ultra hyped for this, if its anything like his recent live shows.. holy shit)
*out hud (great band or hipster fad? now that theyre famous, theyre probably due for another album)
*2 lone swordsmen (used the same phrase as mogwai (rock action era) to describe their new album...)

I'm mainly looking forward to the new Wilco and the new Loose Fur. I already downloaded the new AIR, and from a two listens I wasn't that into it, despite the fact I love their first two albums and the Virgin Suicides soundtrack. I also hope the final Elliott Smith album finally gets released, hopefully in it's complete 2 or 3 disc glory. What else? The new Ryan Adams box set with 3 unreleased albums sounds promising. Hopefully a new Papa M album (at least an EP) will get relased, and maybe a Billy Corgan solo album. The new Grant Lee Philips album, Melissa Aud Der Maur's album, new Beastie Boys, and I'm sure a couple others are coming that want badly.

I hate Ryan Adams.

I own one Loose Fur album, I dono if there's more, but I think I've heard them as a live act?

1. Why was Zwan bad? They had the best guitar attack of the past 10 years! Pajo, Sweeny, and Corgan; easily the best.

2. Why hate Ryan Adams? Do you dislike country? If you like alt-country check out Whiskeytown's Stranger's Almanac and his Heartbreaker album. Also if you like the Replacements, you might like his new album, Rock n' Roll, which has a Westerbergian feel to it. Adams is the shit though, and I'm pretty tired of people (ie. Pitchforkmedia) the fact he's a self-obsessed bastard instead of his music, which is really good. Not saying that you are criticizing him for that, because I really doubt you would. I really hope you have listened to a lot of his stuff, because, if not, you're missing out on one of the most prolific artists around.

1. Didn't like the single, I downloaded most of the album, too. I was a big Pumpkins guy, back in the day. They still please me on listens.

2. Listening to tracks at Borders. I'm not huge into alt-country. So, I didn't like the songs, the fans and his image piss me off, too. Mainly, it's the music I have a distaste for.

I always expect great things from Reznor, and his albums have yet to let me down. But I gotta say, he takes too fucking long to put them out.
