I liked the old Starcraft but wasn't addicted to it like I am with Warcraft III. How is it not playing with a hero character in multiplayer games?

We just bought the game today. It sure is a pretty box. I'll let you know what I think of the game when we actually find the time to play it.... probably a month or two from now.
