Old May 8th, 2003, 01:09 AM        Got nothing else to do, so here's some Marvel Comics news

This looks so fucking weird...

For all of those who don't know, Doop is from Mike Allred's weirdass mutant comic X-Statix. I know nothing about him since I don't read X-Statix.

Some other Marvel news.

To everyone's regret and anguish, Bill Jemas' rant machine and childish parody device Marville is still being published. It's up to issue 7. Don't most series get cancelled when nobody buys them?

The Epic imprint is going to be pulled out of mothballs, with a comic book about "real issues teens are going through". Sounds like shit to me.

Some new series coming up are Crimson Dynamo and a new volume of Silver Surfer, both set to launch on July 30th. I've heard rumours about a Thanos series, but nothing concrete.

Everyone should be reading X-Statix. I'd go so far as to say it might be the best book Marvel is putting out.

And I'm sure Bill Jemas' role as President of the company will ensure that his crappy book keeps coming out for a long time to come.

I remember when Captain Marvel used to be the best thing Marvel published... Oh well, I think I'll start buying X-Statix now.

I thought that was a new-generation Slimer comic at first

Captain Marvel has never interested me in the least, so I have a hard time believing that it was the best thing Marvel published at one time.

Marvel is once again the most successful publisher out there. And only 5 or so years ago they were bankrupt.

Yeah, but it's a damn shame they had to ruin everything they did in the last twenty years to do so.
