While I love the DVD format, I think things are getting out of hand. Every movie that could potentially make money seems to be released in two or more different cuts, and it seems like whenever the studio pushes to have a film cut there will be an extended DVD out a few months later. I just read that the new Charlies Angels movie will come in two editions: one with sex and more violence, and one without. I'm not planning on seeing this one (no interest), but I can't help being provoced when even fluff movies are given this treatment. What's the real cut of a film these days? I miss the days when there were definitive editions with the occational director's cut

I'm still looking forward to the extended Two Towers DVD, through. And the REAL director's cut of Blade Runner.
