I said that's a non-issue in terms of closing the thread and starting a new one, but if the speed can be improved, I don't see that as a BAD thing at all.

And as someone who half does that anyway I don't even care about it. If you guys hadn't brought it up I wouldn't have even noticed.

He'd routinely go back to 'delete' his old posts, so I took away his edit button. I did it to one other person too (for the same reasons) but I can't remember who.

The 'problems' with the chat thread making new users feel unwelcome isn't a chat thread problem, it's a problem with those users. Pub quoting people and making fun of them only happens in the chat thread because he doesn't post in other threads - again, you are describing a problem with Pub, not a problem with that thread.

It also seems like you favor the new people over the older ones, unconditionally, and that only leads to resentment and cancelled accounts. One guy casting a vote for removing the thread on account of "i felt lik bein a dik lol" believe it or not should NOT carry equal weight to the people that have supported the forum for years. On the other hand, new people like Tadao who can actually express themselves in the King's English SHOULD have their opinions held on equal ground.
