Okay, I am interested in doing this.
I am thinking of buying a used computer and uploading the needed stuff and using that PC solely for the purpose of modifying 8 bit NES games.

I would rather not connect it to the internet, I would rather use moveable storages into and out of it. But connecting it once or twice to get what is needed may have to happen.

Problem being is, I don't really know exactly where to start.
After viewing this site I realized it can be done relatively easy.

What would I need in that beat up old used machine to be able to carry through with this diabolical plan of NES hijacking? What would be the requirements of such a machine?

If possible I want to modify versions of the original Legend of Zelda.
Ending with a product that is either only playable on a PC or if possible on a NES console, whatever may be.

dunno why you want a comp just for romhacking. http://www.romhacking.net/ should have whatever you're looking for

Thank you for the link I am going to look at that right now.

I was thinking the graphics would take up a lot of space.
And that a comp dedicated to romhacking would give me a feel of better focus and control.

You are telling me that the system requirements for something like this is going to be rather low?

I think the biggest hacked NES game I found was like 200kb.
