Pakistan Claims to Kill al-Qaida Official
(AP) - Pakistan's massive sweep through western tribal areas to root out suspected terrorists resulted in the deaths of an al-Qaida intelligence chief and 62 suspected militants and the arrests of 167, a military official said Monday. The army spokesman, Maj. Gen. Shaukat Sultan, identified the al-Qaida operative only as Abdullah — an extremely common name in the Islamic world — and said he had no more information about him. The army confirmed Abdullah's death through "independent intelligence sources," but Sultan would not say whether it had his body.

I think this was well worth not making a big deal out of Pakistans whole Nuclear black market thing. This Abdullah fella could have been a whole lot of trouble if there is any such guy and if was more than a tribal goatherd. Thank God for the Alliance and the great work it does!

In other news, the infamous serial killer John Smith has just been apprehended by federal authorities and is being detained at an undisclosed location pending a trial whose date has yet to be determined.
