I've been considering switching my major from Electrical Engineering (EE) to Computer Engineering (CPE), and I wanted your guys' opinion.

My problem with EE is that I have now started to get into all the analog electronics stuff and I have a pretty hard time with it. I really easily and quickly pick up digital logic and programming kind of courses, but this analog electronics course I am taking now has just been brutal on me.

EE:
Pros:
-Bigger job market for EE
-Already taken some EE only courses

Cons:
-I have trouble with analog stuff

CPE:
Pros:
-Higher starting salary for CPEs (~$2000/yr more)
-Courses would be easier for me

Cons:
-I would have to catch up on about 3 classes I missed

What do you guys think? Should I tough it out as an EE or should I change to what would be an easier major for me?

They don't allow EE/CPE double majors since the course loads are very similar. The only difference is EE starts to focus on analog stuff and CPE focuses more on programming/digital stuff.

which one has the least amount of POT SMOKERS? i would pick that one. then you could be CUTTING EDGE and introduce others to THE WEED.

that'd be EE hands down. they're more likely to be adderol junkies.

Can you not just take EE and perhaps later go back an piecemail the classes need for a CPE degree? Then you'd have both fields open.

Marijuana is illegal and I would never partake in such activities.

As you mentioned, the job market for EE is much broader, which makes it possible for you to look for a job that doesn't have much to do with analog devices. A lot of jobs with utility companies don't require much more than a knowledge of CAD and the ability to understand the basic electrical concepts. Half of the people that I work with couldn't tell you ohm's law to save their lives
