Old Nov 18th, 2013, 02:35 AM        2013 SECRET SANTA EVENT PARTICIPANTS: SHARE YOUR INTERESTS!!!
As always, since some of you aren't sure what to buy the person you're assigned to in the Secret Santa event, I'm creating this thread again.

While I tend to not even think about what my recipient is interested in and simply try to get them something they wouldn't normally buy for themselves to create a more fun / surprising Secret Santa experience, I understand that some of you may not want to do it that way and simply want to give them something you know they'd like. With that in mind, I'm opening up this thread for all participants to post their interests in. Just share some basic details about yourself (ie: what kind of movies you like, your hobbies, etc.) if you want your Secret Santa gift giver to know a little more about yourself.

Note: Just because you post some info about yourself in this thread, it does NOT mean your Secret Santa needs to take these factors into consideration when they buy your gifts. It's totally up to them whether to buy you something related to your interests or to go with something more surprising. Again, this is totally optional for both the buyer and the receiver to participate in.

things I can display. so toys, models, ect. retro and pop culture is in. I also collect zelda stuff, and am pretty big into magic the gathering. (Blue/White are my colours) and my shirt size is 2XL. other then that? as long as it's something a person would say "oh, neat" to, I will love.

Suppose I should share something too. While I won't say what you should get me, as there's certainly more than enough info on this site about what I like based on all the articles from the past 15 years, I will tell you what I don't need:

-Movies (I have so many movies I haven't even had a chance to watch yet, so I definitely don't need any additional DVDs or Blu-ray discs.)

-Posters / Art (similar to the movies, I have more than enough prints & posters that I don't even have room on my walls for, so I'd avoid those too.)

-Music (again, I have plenty, so no thanks)

-Clothing (thanks, but I'll stick with my own shirts 'n all)

Other than that, I think everything else is fair game, so have at it!

Hm, specify what I'm into while keeping it a total surprise, let's see:

Movies: Adventure/Fantasy/Sci-fi/Comedy/decent CGI like Toy Story or Wreck-it-Ralph/ anything with unique animation techniques like stop-motion
Series: Dr. Who, Welcome to Night Vale, too much Manga/Anime (I'm into more offbeat series like Princess Jellyfish and Moyashimon, the only really mainstream series I'm into right now is Bleach, also love anything related to Studio Ghibli)
Candy: Gum, hard candies, anything chocolate (the darker the better)
No clothing please (unless it's a weird accessory or hats, I like both funny and stylish hats)
Stationary: Any unique blank/lined notebooks (I have lots of pens and pencils, though)
Video Games: Zelda, Secret of Mana/Mana Series in General, Earthbound/Mother, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Dance Dance Revolution, Mario, Tetris
Misc Stuff: Tintin, Johnny Quest, MST3K/Rifftrax, science stuff, underwater landscapes, food miniatures in 1:12 scale, animals

I'm open for surprises. Or you can research me and find out my likes VERY easily.

All I ask is some small trinket for the wife. She gets excited, too.
She likes triceratops, Devastator (The Transformer), penguins, Stitch and bears. And LOVE chocolate.

I like Ex Leper's list, so just steal his stuff for me and we'll be good.
Also, take a look at previous SS events for some great ideas.

Let me just say that surprises are my preference. Last time I did this my guy sent me stuff that he enjoyed and I had a blast. But, if you insist, here's what I'm into:

Obscure movies and Cult films
I have enough old cheesy b-movies to open a video store, and I have no intention of stopping accumulating.
A lot of them I downloaded off the internet and burnt onto cheap dvds because I'm frugal lazy so official releases would be killer! I also like posters from said movies.

Vintage Paperbacks
I have a modest sized collection of these too. Murder mysteries, SciFi, Adventure, whatever.. I'm happy with any kind of good ole fashion pulp entertainment.

My interests? Lots of things from the '80s mainly. Transformers, Godzilla, Gamera, Swamp Thing, Nintendo. Also enjoy Uncle Scrooge comics, Hot Wheels cars from the '70s - '90s, Thanos and the Silver Surfer, freaky or weird Japanese manga, Doctor Who, Boba Fett (and all the other Star Wars Bounty Hunters), Universal Monsters (especially the Invisible Man, Mummy and Creature from the Black Lagoon). I'd avoid DVD's though, I have practically every DVD I've ever wanted.

My Intersts?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, anything with Batman (exept the Batnipples), Doctor Who, Deadpool, legos (i have more legos than a grown-ass man like myself should realisticaly have), DBZ and bleach (the anime not the cleaning product)

I hate Star trek...sorry i never really got into the old stuff and the new movies just seem like a star wars rip off.

I like everything on this site. 80's, vidya games, comics and the like. Seriously, send whatever you like. Although, you may have a tough time topping LAST YEAR
ideas:
- Very terrible music (Hulk Hogan bad, not Nickleback bad)
- Alcohol
- Anything Indiana Jones or James Bond related
- Something that you find funny
- tea!
- candy
- things I can't get it Canada

The only thing I DO NOT want is art/posters. I have no room for them. Also I have enough Tshirts, but hats are good! I wish you all a Merry Chrimmas

Heres my AMAZON WISHLIST to use for inspiration / get an idea of me

I like anything comic book related, toys, video games, toys of comic books and video games...oh, and interesting and weird books are always good. Can't have too many books. I also have an Amazon wishlist, which you don't need to use by ANY means, but it may give you a better idea of my tastes (it should be pretty easy to track down by my name...and I put a link to it in last year's shared interests thread).

A little late, but what the hey.
Retro arts, books, games, movies. Basically anything you think would pop up on sites like this.
Just don't get me anything music related, please. I have more than enough CDs and mp3s to last me a life time.

Yeah, I'm stealing this. I Like basically everything on this except 06). In place off that I'd say anime.

I like anything sci-fi related, horror, b-movies - pretty much all the i-Mockery stuff!
I wear XL shirts, and I do love toys, but I don't have too much display space...
