Speaking of hippocratus philosophy, do you think maybe my new dentist wants to give me more fillings than I really need? I know I've got one cavity that needs a filling, but what if he wants to just make a little more money!

I agree with KahlJorn completly in this thread.

Crazy black cunt and the guy who started this thing, you guys obviously have no idea about any religions history or culture other than what you read for 5 minutes on the internet or what your mummys and daddies told you, so I think you should shut up.

The thread is about atheism. Not about how certain cultures have worshipped the same god for thousands of years. It's about people who dont believe in god, so no. You shut up.

What the hell are you talking about?

Number one: 5 minutes would be enough to convice any kind of mentally stable person of how ridicuous religion is.

Number two: I have far more experience with religions than that, good job on baseless assumptions.

Number three: The shortcomings and fallacies of religion are quite obvious and do not require reading into a religion's history to understand that.

People believe in life after death because they are afraid of dying a meaningless death.

I've gone to church, I watch the news, I've had religious debates with fundamentalists, I've read about religion, I have religious friends. I live in the real world and religion is everywhere. A real question would be: how can one NOT have experience with religions?

If Atheists are so certain that God doesn't exist, why don't they just sit back & look smug whenever someone says different, rather than getting all riled up as if someone was attacking their core belief system?

Most such incidences probably come from having their beliefs encroached upon, for example, Madalyn Murray O'Hair's lawsuit against the teacher-led prayers in school for her atheist son, or perhaps Kansas's trying to get Intelligent Design taught in biology class, despite having little in common with actual scientific theory.

Surely they were not forced to pray, or to believe in ID.

I went to Catholic School, & I was allowed to sit at the back & look smug whenever they did some religious thing. It's a fun feeling thinking you're smarter than everyone around you.

In both instances, it's more of a case of violation of separation of Church and State, but the point is, 99% of atheists don't just attack Christians for no reason.

You American's are crazy. Not having a state endorsed religion is way differant to having religious state employes, or to you make your president renounce his religion before he takes office?

I'd prefer an atheist President, but due to equal rights and such, political positions are not widthheld from religious people.

I saw some guy, at Wal-Mart, who had a sticker on his window saying:
National Atheist's Day
April 1st

Just felt like tossing this out there.

Why does it matter what the president's religion is? If you want an atheist president simply so he can create benefits for your specific religious outlook, you're just as bad as Christians that want the same thing.

Can we ban this moron now?

"99% of atheists don't just attack Christians for no reason."

This guy sure knows how to push the envelope.

Do atheists really even consider themselves, "Believers"? What do they really believe in, because I know it's not, "Belief in no God", there's got to be something more to it... right?
