Nope, won't get that image of Matt Damon boning Michael Douglas out of my head anytime soon.

Blood Beach, 1981. Think of a really low budget Tremors, nine years before Tremors, and set on a beach on Los Angeles. Really slow and boring, I just skip to the bits where the monster pulls people under the sand. And, oh yeah, the monster looks like a sandworm from Dune if it were gene-spliced with an artichoke.

Pitch Black. I saw that a new Riddick movie was coming out this fall, so I figured I'd re-watch the original for the first time in about 10 years. It's a much better movie than it was given credit for back in 2000. Plus, unlike the sequel and videogames, Riddick has a personality and there isn't a bunch of stupid sci-fi fantasy mumbo jumbo. He's just a badass murderer. Supporting characters are good too, except the Haji kids who wander off all the time. Also I think this is the first movie to use the phrase "skull-fuck."

i was in an appalachian mountain mood last night so i double-featured two flicks filmed in/near western NC.

songcatcher - the scenery is magnificent & the music is good (could have used more banjo numbers!), but the acting is bad and the movie kind of feels like it's made-for-TV.

deliverance - i'd never seen this until now. i'm glad to find out the whole movie isn't about rapist hillbillies. turns out lots of it is just some dudes floatin' down a river. ok!

For some reason, the music in Brave really annoyed me. I can't explain it, other than it was like Pocahontas but Scottish.

I liked the animation, but saw it in 3D and got a massive headache.

Man of Steel is the best Dragonball Z movie ever produced.

It's a bad Superman movie though :T

I just came back from seeing Man of Steel. I even recorded an audio review and posted it. Overall I just thought it was decent.

dredd-not bad, but i didn't think much of the villain, and i'm not a fan of slo-mo so the constant use of it was really annoying

On Sunday evening I went to see Monsters University. I'd say it's above average.

Today I streamed Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. In all honesty, it didn't do that much for me in spite of its strengths.

Twins. The last time I had seen it, I was six. I was surprised to find that it was as funny as I remembered--which is interesting, considering that many things I thought were funny as a child turned out to be one turd after another as an adult.

Last week on the Fourth, my friend and I went to see Despicable Me 2. Formulaic, but not bad at all and often funny (and the Minions steal the show).

Nightmare Before Christmas is a bit overrated, but it's a minor classic.

As for Pacific Rim, if you temper your expectations you should be in for quite a ride.
