This movie was referenced in Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness (As well as Castlevania 64, the game's inferior first release). You encounter a Vampire Hunter who dresses exactly like Peter. His name?

Charlie Vincient.

Ironically, he's central to the game's plot despite being a somewhat lacking fighter. If you take too long to beat the game, he gets Vampire'd, which results in the protagonists not being able to see through the evil count's horrific disguise (as a little boy), to the point of the disguised kid flirting it up with Carrie. Talk about bad end.

If you arrive in time, however, Vincent immediately sniffs Drac out, however, and Holy Waters his ass, causing the count to TRUEFORM and triggering the last boss fight.

Today's horror movies play out too realistically that for me all is lost. We have enough roaming murderers, sociopaths, etc in society that we don't need them on the big screen in the same capacity. Horror films in the past I feel balanced things well, enough that it wasn't too realistic that they ended up polarizing film goers. I like a little humor, a little scare, and some action. Sometimes, I don't even mind being messed with some and occasionally have an ultra serious horror film. However, today's horror films are just torture porn and at times too realistic and show too much - relying on heavily computer manipulated special effects or gags that results in too many visual thrills that keep you from appreciating everything else that completes the film. It's like stuffing yourself full of your favorite concession stand candy and chugging too much soda - you aren't going to feel too good at the end.

I love Fright Night. It has the right level of cheese, seriousness, interesting special effects choices, and nostalgic paybacks. The cast chemistry is good. The acting is not by any means like Oscar worthy but it fits the movie well. Very much a classic in my film library.

I was very heavily expecting some Evil Eddie. Talk about casting the perfect person for a role. As replicant stated, the casting is great. He seemed to really get off on being a vampire, like being bitten was awesome. He was creepy before, but he got really nasty after that, like he was enjoying being evil, and I thought it was just perfect. I agree, perfect cheese. I refuse to see the new version. Although, I have to say, seeing Marcy from Married with Children in another role is very, very odd and funny. Like the first time you see a respected family member get tore up, odd and hilarious.

I have no clue why they decided to remake this movie. The original is pretty damn perfect in it's own way and from what I can see from the previews the new film has absolutely, positively, nothing to do with the original other than the names of the characters and the title.

This seems to be a trend in hollywood today... remaking a film based on it's cool title alone. (I'm looking at YOU Karate Kid!)

Well, I sure as hell ain't looking at the Karate Kid remake.

Fun fact about this movie: did you know that the makeup for vampire Amy was originally going to used for the librarian specter in Ghostbusters? It's not hard to guess why they rejected it.

Another fun fact: The actor that played Evil Ed followed up this role by breaking into the world of gay porn.

No lie.

The actor who played Evil Ed also starred in 976-EVIL, Robert Englund's directorial debut. As for Ed's gay porn history, I came across sources saying either he did, or he didn't but another actor with his name did and their resumes got mixed together. Only he knows for sure, and I'm not sure what he's said about it

I watched this movie based on this article alone. I'm glad I did! =)

Remake is terrible though. =\
