Deconstruction

I may have posted a thread on this before, but can someone explain Derrida's deconstruction to me?

Is deconstuction meant to be the literal interpretation of the word, like when you see useless pundits picking apart cliches of TV shows or genre films on VH1, or does mean something else? (If not, am I thinking of another philosopher?)
