Delayed write error?

I keep getting this message from XP about it being unable to save files with weird names to my second harddrive. What's that about?

I'm guessing the weird names that Boogie is talking about are the hash filenames for temporary files. It must be trying to use your second drive as a temporary cache... Not usually a good idea with a second drive.

Yes, weird names means names made mostly of symbols like $ and !.

So what caused XP to suddenly start making use of my second harddrive like this? I haven't done anything significant beyond installing/uninstalling games.

Failing that, how can I stop XP from writing crap onto my second harddrive?

It might have something to do with your virtual memory... Whoreable would probably know more since he is an MCSEA+CNA or something.
