Kids love Steely Dan so you can't go wrong with that. I did and I was a model child so whatever worked for me will work for others.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys

Almost anything by Queen.

Both are good harmonizing bands, which I would think would also be pleasant for the baby

Pizzicato 5 - Awesome japanese gogo jazz techno

Puffy - has the flow of the Beatles but instead has two jap girls singing in harmony. Try the album AmiYumi

That's like saying the Polysics is good for a baby. It'll make their poor little mind explode.

Any Nick Drake would do. Pink Moon is very soothing and relaxing along with Bryter Layter.

John Fahey (see my other thread on this forum!) though a lot of his stuff is very somber.

Bobby McFerrin has a lot of very positive and interesting music.

More positive but less interesting is an Australian dude named Mal Webb. He's very very silly, almost overbearingly so, but he has so much fun making music--you can tell that with every lyric he sings, he's got a big goofy smile on his big ugly head. He does weird things with his voice and plays a variety of instruments. His lyrics have a lot of rhyming.

"Dodgy" is probably the best song on there, hahaha.

THIS SONG is wonderful!

My kid(s) will be exposed to a variety of crazy things.

if you want kids listening to the beatles, these 3 songs are the best for kids:
Hello, Goodbye
Strawberry Fields Forever
I Am the Walrus

those are all from the album magical mystery tour, but I find that kids love those 3 the best.
