There was also a film released in 1989. In an interview, with Capcom game designer Shinji Mikami, it was stated that the game was licensed from the movie. The game and the film were released simultaneously. Sweet Home's trailer is both an advertisement for the movie, and a sales pitch for the game, as it includes footage from both.
The film and video game versions both contain duplicate copies of very specific images. Even more so, specific things, such as the fresco, the skull statue, and the tool, look exactly the same in both the film and the game. More so, the facial appearance of the character portraits in the game mirrors the look of the actors in the movie. It can therefore be assumed that the game was based on the movie (as, were it the other way around, actors who looked exactly like the character portraits in the games would need to be sought).
According to the game credits, the producer for the game is Juzo Itami, who acted in the film.

The Duckman pc adventure game. It didn't do anything special as far as point and click adventure games go, but Duckman was awesome and the game played like an episode.

The Penny Arcade game is actually really good in term of gameplay, and the story's funny if you like their humor.

Also, From Russia With Love is pretty solid. They got all of the actors back for voices (Sean sounds too old, though) and the combat is pretty good. I still prefer Everything or Nothing, but FRWL is really faithful to the movie, save for the new content.

Why has no-one mentioned "The Darkness"? The comic (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...heDarkness.jpg) was fucking badass, and the game (http://www.2kgames.com/images/slicks/darkness_ss2.jpg) caught the feeling and tone of the comic perfectly. And that worked wonders with me because I'm a huge comic dork.

i didn't liked it after playing the demo i found out darklings lost their awesome attitude and there was no suit so i didn't got it

I think the best game based on a movie would have to be Goldeneye 64. Too good; probably the best all around game on the Nintendo 64 (I liked OoT more and SM64 as well, but they didn't have multi-player.)
