I'm going to build a new system here pretty soon and I was just wondering what kind of motherboard I should get, or what features I should be looking for. Also does A-bit still has problems with capacitors exploding?

abit had the capacitor problem on some older boards. I dont think it is a problem for current boards.

I am assuming the 754 pin athlon 64 not the 940.

in that case the ABIT KV8-MAX3 is a pretty good choice, of course it is one of the most expensive. personally I would wait a while for more reveiws to come out because tons of 64 boards are coming out everyday. I would also check out boards by MSI, Epox, and gigabyte. Or even biostar, soltek, or albatron if you need to go cheaper.

They pretty much all seem to have decent features, 6 channel audio, serial ata, gigabit lan. It also looks as though the via K8T800 seems to be a bit better than the nforce 3 so I would probaly go with a board based on that chipset.
