I agree whole-heartedly. Megan Man 2 is the epitome of platformer awesomeness.

Hell yeah, my favorite Mega Man game. Has the coolest robot masters(well, except Heatman) and best musics. Pretty much every BGM rocked my socks.

How could I not agree? 2 was the best of pretty much all the Mega Man games. Well, except for Mega Man X2. And I guess Legends if you're into corny RPGs with a shooter element.

But who cares, this game was the shit, and finally beating it felt very, VERY satisfying.

You know, I've still never played any of the Mega Man X games, because people warned me they were not the Mega Man I knew and loved. Though I recently picked up the Mega Man X Collection, so we will see how they compare to the originals...

Oh Lord of all Mega Man's, I could never find the words to express my love of you.

Except for these. You let me fight a giant, sentient Zippo Lighter. Oh hell yes that's awesome.

This is the only game I have on my cellphone, just because it was the only one worth carrying around with me.

2 was good. I liked 3 better because that bad guy who comes back as the megaman2 bosses was cool and 3 had the only Rush Jet that didn't suck. 5 was decent too.

Megaman 2 rules them all. We´ve been biting the Controllers to bits as kids, even though the game is pretty easy actually...but as a Kid...well you suck at such things. And Protoclown, give Megaman X a Chance. It´s not as old-school as the original Series, but MMX1 is pretty damn awesome in my opinion.

I agree, about MMX1 being good, but be careful about future Mega-Man buys, there are way too many "different" Mega-Man titles that feel/play/sound/taste exactly the same...

The Cyclopean Rock Monster was easily beat by using the pause cheat. Just pause when your shot hits his eye and keep pausing and unpausing for multiple hits. That's the only way I could beat that one eyed bastard.

...I must confess my sins. I think Megaman 3 was the best of the series. *douses flames*
Seriously! It took everything 2 did, and just refined it further, while adding a SLIDE!. And the Rush Jet in that one ruled. On top of it, you at least get to fight a guy with the same moves as the sentient Zippo lighter.

The first Megaman X rules, and 2-4 are decent. Stop right there, though, I give you fair warning.

I dunno what it was about the NES, but that was the system of sequels as far as I'm concerned. Mega Man 2 - my favorite in the series. Castlevania 2 - my favorite in the series. Super Mario Bros. 2 - my favorite in the series. And for each of those games, it's not just the gameplay that's far more entertaining, the music is also the greatest as well.

I've actually been playing MM2 for the past week or so, and I finally got to the end -- the final incarnation of Dr. Wily -- and I cannot damage the motherfucker. I'm out of crash bombs! What'll I do??

Finally! someone who agrees with me on Mega Man 2! I love that game, and as you said the music is amazing, I've always loved the "metal man" stage. Play station 2 has the Mega Man collection, s do the other consoles, X-Box and Game cube at the time. but it's not the same without the controller. if you can find the roms review "A Boy and His Blob" or even "Friday the 13th"

Proto, if you need any advice on the X games, i've played em' all and finished them all, if you get psp's Maverick Hunter X (the Mega Man X1 remake) you'll be impressed in it, the voice actors really get the mood across, not like in X4

Are you talking about the alien? Use the Bubble Lead to see that bitch go down.

And to all of you guys who like Mega Man 3 better, don't get me wrong, it's a fine game, and Rush is far more useful than the "Dr. Light objects" and the slide is great, but the level design just doesn't say "instant classic" the way Mega Man 2's does to me.

My 360 is on the way back from "The Shop", so I was looking through a box of PS2 games last night and found the Megaman collection.

I might be playing Megaman 2 tomorrow if I have no 360 back.

Is it just me or were the stages to MM 3 too soul-crushingly hard to be as enjoyable as 2?
Mega Man 2 was also my favorite, and reminded me how fun games can be (I sometimes lose sight of the fun factor when trying to complete a game), but I always thought the bubble shoot was stupid.

I remember that once you got the Metal Blade, everyone was your bitch. And Proto, MMX has some of the most memorable music of the series. Storm Eagle FTW.
