I cannot help but notice that though in many ways a very moderate Republican like Giuliani or a liberal Democrat will be elected in America in 08, I think there is a really amazing trend that is helping us...

In France, Sarkozy is proving to be an ally of epic proportions. I feel very impressed by him -- in a traditionally very socialist society the guy is breaking down barriers and standing by American decisions.

In Germany, Merkel is doing much the same for foreign policy.

In Switzerland, an ultra-conservative party that only had 5 seats 10 years ago now controls 1/4 of all seats (55 or so of 200) in their House (Swiss People's Party).

In Holland, there is even a Flemish separatist movement gaining speed. Holland has always had some forefront (yet very untraditional yet strong conservatives) gain victories (some only to be assassinated by Islamic extremists, which you do not hear about when it comes to characters like Pim Fortuyn).

Japan elected the very conservative Shinzo Abe who now has stepped down, but the fact that he was chosen democratically being so hardline pro-American and anti-North Korean is shocking. The guy implemented radical new policies against the North.

Australia has the very strong and conservative PM Howard who even said "Australia stands closer now to America than she has ever stood to Britain." A guy who is reforming outdated laws about aboriginals from socialist babying to proactive treatment.

And really good news in Korea: the Conservative GNP is so strong right now that both of their potential candidates are ahead of any liberals. It is really amazing to think that a divided GNP is doing far better than a united Left.

In 2003, France, Germany and Korea stood strongly condemning America and Japan was barely supportive. Holland was slowly slipping away... Australia was unremarkable.

I saw a CNN 'YouTube' debate question where a woman in a Muslim veil said, What will you do to repair America's damaged reputation around the world?

I almost shot Coca-Cola through my nose and chortled a little.

Is she aware what has happened over the last year around the world?

American foreign policy has founded institutional support all around the world -- it is almost as if the world collectively decided during election time after the Iraq invasion, yeah, we had these liberal stooges speaking out against your war but we really are standing behind you.

What damaged reputation?

The only way we could damage our reputation now would be to backtrack and say we had damaged our reputation!

The Left is going to have to look harder and harder for these countries standing against us. Even the King of Spain is telling leftist Chavez to shut up.

A new world view is being born and ratified through elections much to the chagrin of the liberal media that now has to pay attention more to disgruntled ex-Generals and weird professors in Ivory Towers.

I have to say that while the left keeps bleat, bleat, bleating like lambs quietly the votes are cast and counted... No one is listening to them. Their racket is very loud but when push comes to shove the people are running away more and more.

Conservatism has much of Europe now plus north Asia. The left has Latin America (well, if you do not count all of the anti-Chavez protests and the Bolivian backlash to their populist leader -- like usual, left wing victory means the state struggling to stay alive in the face of great protest at the forfeiture of basic rights and the collapse of the economy).

Damaged reputation? More like, repaired reputation.

Under Clinton we were a country that responded to terrorist attacks that killed 300 people in American embassies in Africa with a few pointless missiles launched at inappropriate targets in Sudan. We even rebuked Russia when they wanted to combine intelligence efforts in Central Asia (some big regrets now!).

We elected Bush and Clinton's old cronies spoke of indulgence and mismanagement... But when their turn came for reelection the people said something different.

We've won provided we do not backtrack.
