It's pretty good. I wasn't holding out much hope considering the mediocrity of the most recent additions to the series but I needed something to tide me over till HL2 Orange Box/Crysis/Quake Wars/CoD4. It turns out it's actually a really fun game. The combat is very Call of Duty-like and the graphics are phenomenal.
It's much more arcadey than previous games meaning you get bonuses for getting a lot of head shots and if you kill enough enemies with a particular gun you get a weapon upgrade (adding a drum magazine or front grip to the Thompson for example).
I've yet to try the multiplayer as there don't seem to be many servers but I suspect it will be equally fun.
Don't bother buying it it if you're bored with WW2 as a game setting but don't write it off either without at least checking out the
demo.
