Review: A lot of people wrote off Jimmy Eat World with "Futures", the follow-up to their now classic album, "Bleed American". While there were still some great songs on that album, it definitely lacked the energy and punch of Bleed American. Well, I can say without a doubt that they found that energy once again with their 2007 release, "Chase This Light".

This album is packed to the brim with their trademark ultra-catchy songwriting. I'm not sure how these guys manage to write so many songs which are both extremely well-crafted and get stuck in your head. But not in an annoying way, mind you. No, these are the kind of good mood songs you just can't help but crank up loudly on the car stereo and sing along with. I challenge you not to nod your head along to tunes like "Feeling Lucky", "Big Casino" and "Electable (Give It Up)".

Chase This Light is a fantastic return to form for Jimmy Eat World. Perhaps most surprising of all is the fact that you'll probably find yourself listening to the entire album over and over again rather than just skipping to a few favorite tracks. If that's not a testament to just how good these songs are, I don't know what is. Get the album... you won't regret it.

You know that line in Big Casino, the one that goes

"And I'll say Lord give me a chance to shake that hand"

Well, a friend of mine was the inspiration for that. He went to a concert before they started work on this album, and was repeating this line over and over to himself in the line for autographs. The group heard it, liked it, and put it in the song.

Hah that's pretty cool he inspired that. It's easily one of the best songs on the album.
