The I-Mockery Horror/Comedy Zombie Film Project F.A.Q.
Q: What is the movie
called? What's it about?
A: I'm not divulging much information about the project at this
point other than the fact that it will be a horror/comedy film involving
zombies.
Q: When do you plan
to film and/or release this movie?
A: Since we haven't begun filming yet, it's pretty much impossible
to say. It's basically a "it'll be done when it's done" kind of thing.
Currently I'm working a full-time job to help raise funds on my own for it
since I can't depend solely on donations. Let me get it filmed first and then I'll worry about when it
will be released.
Q: Will this film be
out in theatres?
A: If we're lucky, we'll get it into some independent film
festivals. Once filming is completed, I'll probably shop it around to
various studios to see if they'd be interested in buying the distribution
rights. If no studio picks it up, we'll just release it ourselves onto DVD
and promote it heavily on the internet. In addition to our own highly
trafficked site, we've got some great buddy sites that would gladly help
us get word out about the movie too, so either way, plenty of people will
have a chance to see it.
Q: How do you expect
to raise enough cash for this film?
A: Considering that this site gets millions of page views per
month, it really shouldn't be that hard. Hell, if everybody who visits
this site in a given month was to donate one measly dollar, we'd have all
the money we needed for the film right there. But the fact is, not
everybody will, so that's why this donation process is gonna be an ongoing
thing for a while. I'm sure we can do it, and it will be the
most awesometastic zombie movie you've ever seen when it's all said 'n
done.
Q: What if you don't
raise enough cash to film this movie?
A: If for whatever reason I don't raise enough cash to film the
movie I really want to do, I've still got other movies that I could film
that wouldn't cost as much. So I'll just make due with whatever money is
raised.
Q: How much do I need
to donate each month?
A: That's totally up to you. If you can spare 5 bucks one month and
then 10 bucks the next, that's fine. You don't have to donate every month
even, it's just whenever you have the cash to spare.
Q: Can I donate more
than once a month?
A: You can make a donation every hour if you like. Hell, fund the
entire movie yourself if you're that rich. Make my life easier! Seriously
though, donate whenever you want and however much you want. I just set up
the "please donate once a month" thing because it seemed to be the most
reasonable option for most people.
Q: Can I donate
online?
A: Yep, we prefer it that way actually. Click the button below to
donate via PayPal.
Q: I don't have a
PayPal account or a credit card. Can I still donate?
A: Sure, just
email me and we can try to work something out.
Q: Will you be
displaying a chart of some sort at the end of each month so we can see how
much was raised?
A: Yeah, I probably will be doing that. Because, when you see that
we haven't raised enough money for that particular month, you'll be like,
"AWWW SHIT. NOW ROG MADE ME FEEL GUILTY. I'M A GREEDY BASTARD. HERE! TAKE
IT! TAKE ALL MY MONEY!" Ok, so that probably won't be the case, but at
least you'll be able to see how much we've made in a given month and
hopefully you'll feel compelled to make a contribution too.
Q: In addition to my
donation, I know some people that have been working in films (make-up
artists, sound techs, port-a-potty cleaners, caterers, etc) and they might
be able to help you out when you're ready to film.
A: If you or anybody you know has some good experience in the
filmmaking process (especially in horror films), by all means feel free to
contact me and let me know what you or your friends would like to help out
with. If I can use the help when it's time to film, I'll get back in touch
with you for sure.
Q: I have something
really cool that I'd like to donate for you to put up for auction so you
can raise more money for the zombie movie. Is that possible?
A: Definitely. If you have some cool stuff that you no longer use
or you made something that you think we could auction off to help raise
money for the movie,
email me about it and we might be able to put it up for auction.
Q: How much film
experience do you have?
A: Me? Why, I put all the great directors to shame! Nah, I'm just
getting into film after reading some books on it and having wanted to do a
zombie flick for a loooong time.
Q: Will there be a
soundtrack available for this film?
A: If all goes well, yeah I would probably have a bunch of indie
bands on a nicely done soundtrack and maybe even a few tracks by yours
truly. It's hard to say though, gotta make the film first before the rest
of that stuff comes together.
Q: Is "galoshes" the
most important word in the English language?
A: Yeah, I'm pretty damned sure it is.
Q: I donated to the
movie but don't want my name to appear in the credits. Is that ok?
A: Sure. You can have any name you want in the credits. For
example, if your real name is Cletus McDoogle and you don't want anybody
to know you donated, you can have an alias such as "Klinktor the
Milkshake" appear in the credits instead. It's totally up to you.
Q: How much do I need
to donate to make an appearance in the film?
A: First off, we're going to be getting real actors for the main
roles in this film, so don't expect anything like that. Still, there
should be plenty of extra zombie roles that will be available and that's
where you would come in, because it doesn't take much skill to act like a
zombie (trust me). There is no definite amount so far that you have
to donate, but anything $500 and over would pretty much guarantee you a
spot somewhere in there. Keep in mind, you would have to make the travel
and hotel arrangements, because I simply don't have the cash to fly your
ass out here.
Q: If I donated a lot
to the film, will I get a discount on the DVD when it comes out?
A: I'm hoping to do something like that, yeah. If you're one of the
people who actually donates over $500 to the movie, I'm sure we can work it out
so you at least get a free autographed copy of the DVD. If by the time the
film goes into production, you have donated $100 or more, we'll make
arrangements to get you a free DVD if we publish it ourselves. People who
donated less should at least be able to get a discount on the DVD too.
If you have any questions
that weren't answered, please
drop me a line and I'll try to answer your question as soon as
possible. Thanks.
