Title: Bahamut Lagoon (2nd Review)
Author:Squaresoft (pre Enix takeover)
Rom Player: ZSNES
Reviewer: Mr. Stookymalarkey

Synopsis: This sucker, unlike the usual stable of adventure and RPG Squares' used to, is a strategy game. You move your units around in hopes of thwarting the enemy. Unlike other strategy games, you can interact with the battleground to your advantage, such as freezing bodies of water to get to your foes, or setting fire to the forest if the bastards attempt to traverse the woods. Also, you have dragons to back you up, which may or may not be helpful according to how you raised 'em. One final point is that hand to hand combat is done a la FF3 (FF6 if you're Japanese or one of those perverted gamer types) in that you can select what each character does for one turn.

The story, however, is utter crap in my opinion. The main guy is your standard heroic mute, the idiotic princess you save gets a case of Stockholm syndrome and falls for the enemy general with the personality of a brick and your crew is the sorriest group put together since FF7's Seeds, since they are composed of perverts, morons, and drug addicts. And yes, the old guy's fruitier than this delicious Delmonte's canned peaches. God, that sounds awful to me and I actualy beat the damn thing. So, if you want addictive strategy gameplay, you came to the right place. If it's story you want, go for Final Fantasy 3 or Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Trust me, if you never play this game, you're not missing too much. (BTW, the originality took a blow for the shit story. It is Square's work after all...)

Best Cheats: USing the cheat function on ZSNES, give yourself a shit load of cash and buy up as much equipment with status effects on 'em. THis way, you can make your puny pups into really powerful dragoons early on in the game (since the stuff serves as their food!)
