Synopsis: Punching a mutant is therapeutic. I have no idea what the plot is for this game, but it seems like there’s an evil scientist who, like all evil scientists, makes a pantload of mutants and robots to wreak havoc because he hates the town he lives in. You play either an eternally pissed white guy or a black guy who wears his sunglasses at night. You job, apparently, is to beat every mutant and robot until they explode. This gets pretty damn messy with the mutants, as they explode with big globs of nasty green crap flying all over the place. You beat these things with your bare hands through a series of punches and kicks, with a few uppercuts and jump kicks thrown in for added spice. Unfortunately, the bigger mutants and robots can flatten you while your trying to pull off your amazing combo, thus hurting your feelings. To counteract this brand of cheapness, you get special attacks called “deathblows.” You begin with a life draining attack that causes the white guy to start kicking like Van Damme meets Bruce Lee, and the black guy to start spinning around like a frigging top. You find other, less dangerous deathblows in the form of the Spirit Attack, the Explosion Attack, the Thunder God’s Attack, and the “Torneado” Attack. Whoever translated that should be shot. The attacks are interesting to look at and waste just about everything on the screen. The deathblows appear in groups of two and, in addition to giving you a powerful attack, they also provide you with the only health bonus in the entire game. The problem is that they take a couple second to charge up before you can use them, and the time when you need to use them often doesn’t allow extra time for that charging. Despite all this, this is fun stuff. The sound effects are basically just impact noises, plus the laughable yelling you do whenever you charge up and release your deathblows. The music is your typical arcade fighting music with boss themes thrown in at the end of each stage. So, get this game and prove that violence is the answer to all of life’s problems.
