Title: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (5th Review)

Synopsis: I know a lot of old NES players out there who played Zelda 2. It seems that 1, they hate it so much it’s not worthy for fire wood, or 2 it's the best NES game out there. Myself, I am sort of in-between. You see, obviously its about link, who is a 16 year old teenager now who must rescue Zelda from an eternal sleep. You must go to the six palaces to save Hyrule (I lost the booklet, so there are holes in my memory of what the plot is exactly.) and you go do that, basically. There’s only one huge problem with the game.
umm...where should I go exactly?
when I played this, it didn’t seem clear if you had to go to a town, or cave or palace etc. It seemed like you had to figure it out on your own. It never said in the game anything about the plot that I’m aware of, making it frustrating. I like to have an idea on what the plot is about, and the game sort of telling you but not. Oh yeah, they called that show don’t tell in school. But fortunately, you’ll figure it out eventually. But a cool thing about this game is that you can level up like a stereotypical RPG.
gameplay:5 in the world, link looks like a tiny doll/pixel thing overhead. In battle mode, it’s like a platform side to side. Nothing that we never saw before. I call it mediocre.
graphics.7 The graphics were pretty good in battle or town form, but it the world it was sorta bad.
Music7:I found the world music to be actually kinda catchy while a lot of people didn’t like the music(or the whole game, altogether)
Originality:7 The RPG while move around as a platform while battling was original back in the day(the game came out in 89 or 90 I think) but I heard another older game already had this feature. But Zelda 2's release was constantly postponed, so who knows.
Overall rating 6: It ain’t the most impressive game. But it deserves more credit than it got. Any RPG, Zelda or Nintendo fan will want to play it.
