Title: Shinobi

Synopsis: Now here's a game that introduced SMS owners to ninjas. What makes this game good was that it was the game that started an entire series, and then it disappeared until Shinobi 3D for the PS2 (yes I know that game is called Shinobi, but I added the '3d' to separate it from this classic.). Sure this game was ported on the NES and TG-16, but this is the version everyone is familiar with other than the arcade version.
Graphics = 9
The sprites are animated well and equally well detailed for an SMS port of an arcade classic. Plus, there's the extra graphics when the main character (Jo-Mushashi) Jumps from one part of the playing field to the other and vice-versa. However, they aren't as good as the Arcade and TG-16 versions, but better than the NES version.
Game Play = 10
The controls are very responsive when compared to Cyber Shinobi. However, the SMS control pad's shortage of buttons is the only flaw in this version, but that is corrected by the life bar used in this port.
Music = 7
That song is soooo cool. Unfortunately, there's only a few songs in this version, even if they are well instrumented.
Originality = 9
The only reason I am NOT giving this a ten is the fact that this is an arcade port. Other than that, it stood out from other games at this time period.
Overall = 10
Definitely worth a purchase or download.
