Synopsis: RPG games are great. At least when they are made well. If you like a sucky rpg, this one’s for you. The plot goes: A group of kids have to collect the 77 pieces of magi in order to prevent monsters from using it for evil purposes. You can become a god with them. Unlike most good RPG's, FFL2 does not have levels. Instead, it just increases your stats. For example (lets use the name cloud from ff7) cloud’s strength up!! Or Cloud’s hp increase by 10!! It also seems that the stats increase one character at a time, making things uneven. What I mean is that like FFL3, if no one dies, they can all increase levels at the same time (or you can check how much they have left to go) but not here. It just sucks. Also, fighting isn’t much fun. About 90% of the time, your enemies are a lot stronger than you and good weapons are extremely expensive. And there’s a limit towards how much they can be used. If you use them enough they will disappear, and you gotta get new ones. But if you don’t have enough money.... that means that 80 or 90% of the game you will use very outdated weapons which makes this game difficult. Not difficult as in challenging, but mentally challenging.
Gameplay: 5 you basically just walk vertically or horizontally. Nothing too special.
Graphics: 8 the graphics are some of the best for GB, but FFL3 was better.
Music: 4 most of the music is annoying and forgettable; I used to just turn off the sound.
Originality: 1 saving the world again?! WOOOOOWWW! WE ALL ONLY HAD THAT PLOT FOR 1000000 GAMES NOW!!
Difficulty: 10 Like I said, enemies are always a lot stronger than you and weapons cost a fortune. This game is just WAY too hard.
Overall rating 4. As you noticed, I don’t like this game. Just don’t buy it.
