Synopsis: Holy crap did I love this game! I played this one so many freakin' times it's unreal. The gameplay was incredibly simple with one button being for shooting/checking, the other for passing/switching control of defensive man. The only tricky thing was directing your passes and trying to control the goalie (who basically moved in the same direction as your defensive player). When a shot was taken by the other team you had to instantaneously go from defense to gale... Which could be mastered over time.
To start you could choose from a variety of countries, and you could then pick the body type of your players. You could be a skinny guy who was very fast but who had a weak shot and could be knocked off the puck easily. A medium-sized guy who was average at everything, and a fat guy who can truck his way through the entire defense and has a wicked slapshot..
I had Blades of Steel but I almost always chose this one when I wanted to play a hockey game. As for graphics, nothing fancy but adequate for its time. The music and sound effects really aren't bad.
Best Cheats: Not really a cheat but if you get into a heated scrum with another player, it may erupt into a fight, which if you win, gets the loser sent to the penalty box and gives you a power play.
