Title: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2nd Review)

Synopsis: Anyone who had a genesis back in the day knew about sonic the hedgehog. Anyone who didn’t was probably accused of being a witch and burned to the stake. This was back when genesis and Nintendo were like Freddy vs. Jason. No, Mario and Sonic sound better. The point is that Sonic comes back in this sequel to the hit Sonic the hedgehog. We all met Tails for the first time (which I have to say, is more annoying than 50 5 year olds overdosed with pep pills.) And Dr Robotnik made a comeback too, the fat, bald evil scientist trying to take over the world.
Like I said, Dr Robotnik is trying to take over the world again. Even if you never played any of the sonic games, but you only heard of them, you probably remember the chaos emeralds. Now, I never knew the importance of collecting the chaos emeralds in this game, but that is one of the side "objectives" in this game, along with saving the world.(In the Game gear version, Tails is kidnapped by Robuttink for ransom. If you want him back, you’ll have to collect the 7 chaos emeralds and give it to him.)In Sonic 3, however, collect them all and you become gold sonic, which makes you a hell of a lot stronger but this is Sonic 2 so lets not change the subject, shall we?
When I first played this game (which seems like a hundred years ago.) I noticed that the graphics pretty much stayed the same. Okay, they were some of the best for genesis, and you couldn’t get any better than that, so I can’t complain. And the levels and enemies were well done and original. From green hills zone to death egg zone the graphics were top notch. Sure they are laughable by today's terms, but let’s remember, this was the early 90's, when technology was weaker and when we look back after all these years, WE ALL FUCKING LOVED IT! Memories. The only level I hate was the casino zone cuz of all the bumpers, which made me very annoyed, but all the other levels were okay.
Also I noticed gameplay changed as well. You have all the same controls from sonic 1, run, jump, etc. But now you have this cool ability to turn into a ball thing and tumble really really fast. And other new stuff I forgot cuz it’s so long. (oh, and you got the same powerups u have to jump on to break, and the loops, etc.)
I remember music. Some of the music was better than others, but some of it got very annoying. I wasn’t too disappointed though.
Okay, I don’t want u to notice, but im getting a little tired of writing (I won’t be a novelist or a Movie script writer any day.) So ill say this. If u have a working genesis, let it embrace with Sonic the hedgehog 2. It is one of the best games out there for genesis. In my opion though, the 3rd one in the series was better, cuz we all met knuckles (which was the best game character of all fucking time) but overall, this is a musty have for all genesis fans.
