Synopsis: I used to play this arcade game at Wal-mart but I stunk at it. I can kick ass on the Atari 2600 Asteroids. The arcade Asteroids wasn't in color. It had vector graphics.
You shoot an asteroid field. When you shoot the big asteroids, they break into smaller ones. Shoot all the smaller ones to clear a screen. You also have to fire at a UFO that flies by from time to time and fires at you. You can thrust or go into hyperspace to dodge asteroids and UFO's.
I have an old book. It was probably published in 1979. It said that Asteroids was the best video game made. It may have been at the time but today's games makes that statement ridiculous.
This game is nothing special now but in its day, it was a great game. I give it a six.
