Synopsis: Remember the scene in Tron where they had those sexy neon bikes running around and crashing and shit? Yeah, it WAS a trip. There was an arcade game that replicated that craziness, but only one piece of software truly lived up to the wild insanity of the light cycles; that game is Snafu.
This game kicks all kinds of ass, especially yours. Basically, you take this snake looking thing, which doesn't actually look much like a snake and instead looks like a rectangle, but whatever, and try to trap your enemies in corners or in a loop of yourself, causing them to crash and die. There are a number of different variations on this theme in the game, including the option to move diagonally, which is about as fucking wild as things get in an Intellivision game.
The real fun comes in when you get a friend to play along with you, once and only once because you'll hate each other afterwards. Deathmatch takes on a whole new meaning as you pound the shit out of each other in close quarter combat. The gameplay can be pretty intense too, because some human players aren't as stupid as the console controlled enemies. Some strategy is involved, like nudging the other player's controller to send them into a wall, or turning off the Intellivision when they start to win.
Anyway, Snafu is awesome, and if you can somehow acquire it for the original Intellivision, do so. It's a lot of fun, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.
