Synopsis: Ah, its games like this that makes the oldies great. This is, in my opinion, the best game to grace the SNES. (Super Nintendo entertainment system)Shadow run was made in 1989, and developed by beam software. It is a mixture of Shooting and RPG: ( there are about 15 various stats in the game ) you press one button to draw your gun, then move it over you’re foe and press the same button to shoot.( vice-versa for spells ) every few kills, you gain a type of experience point called karma. You can spend this on stat upgrades such as charisma, negotiation, and computer skills. One of the more unique aspects of this game is to hire mercenaries (also known as "shadow runners”) to help kill your enemies. The story line is also complex: it’s the year 2075 and the world is linked by a mega computer network called the matrix. In the opening sequence, our main character, Jake Armitage, is being gunned down by... well... some girl casting magic, two mercenaries, and a giant green troll. Hmm. after they leave, a dog run up, turns into a girl with a raccoon like tail, casts magic on you, then leaves. If you think that’s strange, wait till the giant floating dog. Anyhow, hours later, you wait up in the morgue. Your brain feels burnt and you don't know who you are. Upon walking onto the street, a punk say's that a gangster named Drake has sent a hit out on you, and to get a weapon. There are only 3 things you can do: find an ally, a gun, and get yourself a nice, frosty, iced tea...
This is one of the most original games I have ever seen, (I think you know why by now) and the game play is amazing. Its graphics are mediocre, and the music just plain sucked. The biggest plus for the game, however, is the amount of variety of guns, armor, and shadow runners for hire. The game will keep you playing hours on end, if not until you beat it. Pace yourself, drool zombie.
Best Cheats: In the volcano, one of the computers contains the phone number to the best shadow runner of the game, who is hire able for 10,000 nyun (dollars)
Ask the man who owns the arena about negotiation, and he will teach you it for 1,000 nyun (dollars)
Ask the guy who sells the lone star badge to you about firearms, and he will sell you a grenade
In the car yards, ask the boy about heal. He will sell you slab patches.
