Synopsis: 5 years (I think) after the Alien Wars in Contra 3, some other stuff happens. I honestly have no idea what, unfortunately. But let's face it, when was the last time plot was the important thing in a game like this?
Game Play: 7
I would have given this a higher rating, but this game is HARD. And there isn't even a difficulty setting. However, it would have been lower, but it was saved by what is, in fact, great game play.
In this installment, you can play as four different characters, each with four of their own weapons (which I won't list for you):
Ray, your typical macho military guy;
Sheena, deadly AND hott (so hot, in fact, she deserves an extra "t");
Browny, a small robot with a jetpack that allows you to slow down your fall;
and Wolf, who wants his revenge on the jerks who turned him, a former human, into a wolf (duh).

I think they're purty. But that's just me. Seriously, though, they do look pretty nice for the Genesis, at least as far as I'm concerned. There are lots of explosions, which unfortunately blocks your view and distracts you. Pretty much the only reason I only gave an 8.
Music: 10
WOW. I absolutely LOVE the music in this game. It's intense, fast-paced, and great. I don't suggest it if you hate techno, though. Still, I love it.
Originality: 1
Duh. It's Contra 4. Not really anything you haven't seen before.
Overall: 9
A great game, really. Play it and see. Or maybe it's just me. A-la-da-dee-dee...
