Title: Ex-Mutants
Author:Malibu Interactive
Rom Player: Gens
Reviewer: Mobile Suit Homer

Synopsis: In 2055, the Earth, not to mention every human alive, has been disfigured by the biological and nuclear weapons used during WWIII.
Humans have been transformed into hideous mutants, and it would seem all hope is not.
It's not, of course, thanks to Dr. Kildare, cyborg professor. He's been trying to find the right mutants for his experiments.
Specifically, he wants to turn them back into humans. He finds six subjects perfect for the experiment, which is a success. Unfortunately, four of them are kidnapped, which leaves (oddly enough) the two strongest fighters left to get them back.

Either this game isn't as fun as I remember as a kid, or I've somehow gotten worse with age. Either way, this game isn't for people who don't enjoy the fun of precise jumps and getting hit by pretty much every enemy in the entire game.
Other than that, it's pretty fun, and splattering some mutant's guts everywhere in a semi-graphic manner is usually pretty nice. There's even four or five types of bombs you can pick up and use (but only one at a time).

Graphics: 4
There's no getting around it. Even for a console as "old" as the Genesis, there's no excuse for such terrible, horrible, awful graphics.
NONE.

Music: 7
Nothing fantastic, but it usually gets the job done.

Originality: 10
You're a former mutant transformed by a cyborg scientist back into a human who gets to wield a giant axe (or nunchucks (sp?), depending on whether or not you want the decent character).
Definitely a 10.

Overall: 7
Not really different from a lot of platformers, except maybe the awful graphics. Still, if typical platformer fare is your cup of tea, go ahead and play it.
