Title: Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure
Author:Interplay
Rom Player: Gens
Reviewer: Mmmmm Toast

Synopsis: "It's a dark and stormy night at Professor Stinkbaum's lab, where a machine has been built to save the world from pollution by transexisting it to Dimension Excrement. Eccentric multimillionare Snotty Ragsdale has taken a job at the lab to investigate its safety and find out exactly where the pollution is going. He has a bad feeling about this latest contraption. This night his suspisions will come true..." Yes, the story is a little whacked out, and the gooeyness of the game may turn some off, but if you stick with it, you'll discover one quality platformer.

I have no clue why this game got the controversy that it did when it originally came out (I guess the media tired of Mortal Kombat bashing) but whatever works. This is your typical side-scrolling action platformer, but there are plenty of levels to run around in, and starting around the 3rd stage of the first world, the levels start to become much more advanced than your typical Genesis game. They'res multiple paths to explore and lots of goodies to find.

So you start off in a swamp. Your attacks are flicking boogers, belching, or FARTS. When you hold down the belch or FART button and release, a deadly gas will be set free, killing everything in its path, and sometimes opening secret parts to the level. Mix milk with boogers and you can hock a lougie for more damage. Mix jalapenos with gas and you can fly on your FARTS.

For the messed up game that it is, Boogerman is actually a quality adventure with plenty of levels, good graphics, and entertaining music (and sounds; when you hit an enemy with a booger, they explode with a farting noise), it's hard to go wrong.
