Title: Marble Madness

Synopsis: I've seen a lot of people bitch about the console versions of this game, yet they ignore the original coin-op that kicks incoherent ammounts of ass. This game was released when Atari split into separate arcade and console divisions, and was the first game made on the System I PCB that was co-developed by Namco. It's a damn shame that Atari Games/Tengen never put Marble Madness 2 on the Super NES, it would have been a hit. I'm also surprised that no one has ever wrote a review to other System I&II games such as Rolling Thunder(I used to own this game for my Amiga and I sucked at it), Super Sprint(one of my all-time favorite games), and Assault.
GamePlay: Much like Centipede, this game used a trackball and they used its full potential(it's a damn shame that they didn't use them for those dedicated Marble Man cabnets). You control a marble and the objective is to get to the end of all six courses before time runs out, but there are many obstacles in your way and some of those routes are dangerous. Did I mention that two people can play together?
Graphics: They're up to par with Phozon(If you own Namco Museum Volume 3, then you know what I'm talking about), Gaplus(The Sequel to Galaga), and that is all I can tell you; so play this game yourself.
Music: Another winner in this category. The music is catchy and makes the game play even better. It may not be Gwar or BeatMania, but I like it a lot.
Sound: It might not get annoying like many games made at that time, but it isn't as memorable as Super Mario Bros. or Super Sprint.
Originality: Possibly the most original game of 1984. What other game besides its sequel lets you control a marble from start to finish? None of the mainstream I can tell you that.
If you collect arcade cabinets, then do not hesitate to get this game. If you are unable to get the cabinet, then buy Midway Arcade Treasures. This is one game that deserves respect and lots of it.
Best Cheats: Try going fast on the slopes in the practice course, and land on those numbers near the goal to
skip levels; However, this is NOT recommended.
