Title: Phantasy Star
Author:Sega
Rom Player: Dega
Reviewer: Rey Trejo

Synopsis: I recently picked up the first Phantasy Star at a thrift shop for the low price of $0.50! I am basing this review based on compareable games on the Master System and the NES. When you frist pop this in you are treated to a little background story and you are in town.

Ok now you know the quest and you already know to ask questions and buy items, but before wandering away too far from town level up to level 5 at least or you will die. The overworld map is beatuiful for an 8bit game with it's animated coast lines and awesome music!

The heat of the battle bring up a first person mode simalar to Dragon Warrior except Phantasy Star has animated eneimies too!

A little later in the game you will get a real treat first person 3D dungeons that you can actually wander in something that the old NES has NEVER done!

Even later veichles become available for your party to use which really helps speed things along. But the capper here is the 50 hour quest you will take on that has managed to stand the test of time all these years no matter how outdated it looks today.

Even if you don't have a Master System to play this on hunt down the Phantasy Star Collection for the GBA which also includes part 2 and 3 for $30! It should also be noted while Enix and Square Soft did release their RPGs first Phantasy Star beat them both to the US by more than a year.

I give this game solid 10's all around.
